Orphans Projects

The Orphan Support and Empowerment Program is a multi-sectoral child protection initiative designed to address the criticalneeds of orphans living in and around the globe. Funded by Peace Matters and implemented by Islamic Help the project adopts a holistic and child-centric approach to deliver consistent support in the areas of nutrition, education, health, psychosocial care, and protection monitoring. Orphaned children especially in displacement contexts face heightened risks of exploitation, malnutrition, school drop-out, and emotional trauma. Islamic Help responds to these challenges through an integrated service model that is locally driven, culturally sensitive, and impact focused.

Qur’an

The Approach:

We employ a community-based, participatorymodel to implement the orphan support program. Key features of this approach include:

  • Individual Family Profiling: Each orphan is registered through a thorough vulnerability assessment, including guardian/foster parent verification and home visits.
  • Customized Care Plans: Support is tailored based on the child’s educational level, health needs, and socio-emotional condition.
  • Quarterly Service Delivery: Food, medical care, andeducation materials are distributed every quarter with detailed documentation and follow-up.
  • Close Monitoring: The project coordinators will regularly conduct home and school visits to ensure continued school attendance, physical well-being, and protection from harm.
  • Parental Engagement: We work closely with caregivers (mostly widowed or single mothers) to ensure proper utilization of resources and create a nurturing home environment.
  • Child-Friendly Communication: Children are regularly engaged through friendly interactions and feedback sessions to hear their voices and adjust support as needed.
