Building knowledge, nurturing peace
Building knowledge, nurturing peace
Education is one of the most powerful foundations for lasting change. Peace Matters supports education and peace-building initiatives that empower individuals and communities with knowledge, values, and skills to build stable, just, and peaceful societies. Our work is guided by Islamic principles that place knowledge, understanding, and reconciliation at the heart of human development.
Our education programmes focus on improving access to learning for children and young people affected by poverty, displacement, or conflict. This includes support for schools, educational resources, learning spaces, and skills development opportunities that enable individuals to reach their full potential. Education not only transforms individual lives, but strengthens families and communities for generations to come.
قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
“Say,
are those who know equal to those who do not know?”
(Qur’an
39:9)
Alongside education, Peace Matters is committed to peace-building initiatives that promote understanding, dialogue, and cooperation within and between communities. These efforts seek to address the root causes of conflict, encourage mutual respect, and strengthen social harmony through education, community engagement, and positive values.
وَالصُّلْحُ خَيْرٌ
“Reconciliation is best.”
(Qur’an 4:128)
Education and peace-building go hand in hand. By teaching values such as compassion, patience, and respect for others, we help nurture individuals who contribute positively to society and work towards peaceful coexistence.
Peace Matters works closely with local partners and educators to ensure programmes are culturally appropriate, inclusive, and sustainable. All initiatives are delivered with care, transparency, and accountability, treating every donation as an amanah, a sacred trust.
Through education and peace-building, Peace Matters seeks to uphold the Islamic values of knowledge, justice, and mercy, empowering communities to overcome division and build a future rooted in understanding, dignity, and peace.
