Providing safe water and preserving life
Providing safe water and preserving life
Access to clean and safe water is essential for health, dignity, and survival. Peace Matters delivers clean water projects to communities where water scarcity and unsafe sanitation place lives at risk and limit daily wellbeing. Our work is rooted in Islamic principles of mercy, stewardship, and care for creation, ensuring access to water for those who need it most.
Our clean water initiatives include the construction and rehabilitation of water wells, installation of hand pumps, improvement of sanitation facilities, and promotion of hygiene awareness. These projects reduce the spread of water-borne diseases, improve maternal and child health, and support education and livelihoods, particularly for women and children who often bear the burden of water collection.
وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ
“And We made from water
every living thing.”
(Qur’an 21:30)
Providing access to clean water is an ongoing charity with lasting reward. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that the best form of charity is that which continues to benefit people over time. A water source not only meets immediate needs but sustains entire communities for years to come.
وَكُلُوا
وَاشْرَبُوا وَلَا تُسْرِفُوا
“Eat and drink, but do not waste.”
(Qur’an 7:31)
Peace Matters designs water projects with sustainability at their core, involving local communities in planning, maintenance, and ownership. This ensures long-term access, responsible usage, and protection of water resources.
All water projects are delivered through trusted local partners and supported by strong governance and accountability. Donations entrusted to Peace Matters are treated as an amanah, a sacred trust, ensuring transparency and long-term impact.
Through clean water projects, Peace Matters seeks to protect life, restore dignity, and fulfil the Islamic duty of care towards humanity and the environment, transforming generosity into a source of lasting benefit.
